Weihnachtsrekord

Bis zu den Weihnachten haben bereits rekordverdächtige sieben Manager in der Premier League das Handtuch geworfen.

Folgende Manager nutzen die
Weihnachtszeit für eine Neuorientierung:

Jose Mourinho (Chelsea)
Martin Jol (Tottenham)
Steve Bruce (Birmingham)
Billy Davies (Derby)
Chris Hutchings (Wigan)
Sammy Lee (Bolton)
Lawrie Sanchez (Fulham)

So sieht das Tabellenende in der
Premier League zur Zeit so aus:

13. Tottenham
14. Bolton
15. Middlesbrough
16. Birmingham
17. Fulham
18. Sunderland
19. Wigan
20. Derby

Am Tabellenende haben bis auf zwei Ausnahmen alle Clubs ihre Trainer in die Wüste geschickt. Sitzen jetzt Roy Keane (Sunderland) und Gareth Southgate (Middlesbrough) auch schon auf dem Schleudersitz?

Wir werden sehen; jedenfalls warten schwere Aufgaben.

Sunderland spielt zuhause gegen Manchester United, da wird es kaum gelingen, die durchzogene Heimbilanz aufzupolieren.

Middlesbrough muss auswärts gegen das in der Tabelle direkt hinter ihnen liegende Birmingham antreten. Ein Sechs-Punkte-Spiel also, das keinen schönen Fussball, aber 90 Minuten vollen Einsatz verspricht.
